We’re excited to welcome Caroline McElhannon to the lab as a PhD student working with Dr. Kelsey Jorgensen. Caroline graduated from the University of San Diego in 2026 with a dual B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Anthropology. She previously investigated the effects of post-translational phosphorylation on malate dehydrogenase (MDH) kinetics and metabolic activity through computational modeling and enzyme assays. She is interested in studying modern human adaptation and variation with a focus on genetic links to metabolic health and diet evolution.
